Welcome to the first online store dedicated to the sale of jumping spiders!

The 2026 Resurrection

Phids.net originally went online in February 2014 and served as the place to learn about and acquire pet captive-bred Phidippus jumping spiders. We provided them and shared our experiences as a developing community. Then we disappeared from the internet in late 2016.

After ten years of being a memory, the site has been resurrected in late 2026. Everything you see on the following pages has been reconstructed as it was when we left a decade ago. It currently serves as a time capsule for the birthplace of the modern jumping spider pet trade.

If you are looking to buy jumping spiders, you've come to the right place. We specialize in providing large jumping spiders in the genus Phidippus for sale year-round. These beautiful spiders are native to North America, so these are domestics, not exotics! You will not find exotic species of jumping spiders for sale here.

There are many different species of Phidippus across North America and many have colorful patterns. These spiders are active and curious little creatures with the best eyesight of all spiders. Their inquisitive nature makes them great subjects for photos and videos. The males will even do impressive courtship displays for the females.

All of our jumpers are reared in captivity and are captive bred, so once we have a species, we will not need to collect that species anymore. Our spiders are only sold when large enough to feed on small crickets. We do the hard part for you.

The jumping spider that you buy will typically be a juvenile at least 5mm in body length. If you request a young adult jumper and we have them available, we will send you an adult. Sometimes all of the individuals of a particular species reach adulthood in a particular season, so we may only have adults of these species available certain times of the year.

There are no minimum orders. If you want just one spider, then you can buy just one spider.

Shipping is $14 to anywhere in the U.S. for any of our spiders. We only ship live spiders to U.S. locations. There is no international shipping.

Never owned a jumping spider before? That's okay. Each order comes with a comprehensive care sheet that instructs you on how to care for your jumping spider in all aspects of its life. If you ever have any questions, feel free to contact us for help. We now offer enclosures to house your jumping spider.  These crystal clear enclosures allow you to house your jumping spider in such an attractive manner that you can make your jumper a centerpiece for display.

These are the species that we commonly have available:

Phidippus regius: The regal jumper is one of the largest species of Phidippus and is found throughout the southeastern United States. The males are black with white markings. The females can vary greatly in color. This is the only species that we carry that can be sexed as small juveniles due to males and females being different colors (except for the dark form). This species is the best bang for your buck!

Phidippus otiosus: The canopy jumper is a medium to large species found throughout the eastern United States. The color patterns range from light tan to orange and black.

Phidippus regius-otiosus hybrids: These hybrids can sometimes be found in the wild where these populations overlap.

Phidippus audax: The bold jumper is a medium-size to large species found throughout much of the United States. It is an aggressive predator towards many different types of prey. P. audax is typically black with white markings much like male P. regius, but our varieties are not typical. We carry variations that have orange color patterns as adults, including the rare "Big Bend" bryantae form! We also now have the large Texas form of this species, which should be available by the summer of 2016.

Phidippus apacheanus: The red velvet jumper is a beautiful, hard-to-find medium-size species. Males are typically red and black and females may be red and black or orange and black. The southwestern variation is yellowish to tan in color. We currently have these spiderlings which should be available by summer of 2016.

Anyone who purchases a spider from Phids.net is urged to be a responsible owner. This means that you will take good care of your spider, and you will never release any non-native spider to your state into the wild.

Please see the About Us page.
