About Us

Our intent is to educate people on the benefits and beauty of jumping spiders while providing an avenue to conveniently buy these spiders at a fair price. We have collected, bred, and reared many species of Phidippus jumping spiders for over a decade. We absolutely love these spiders and find them fascinating. We hope that others will as well.

We have created a place where you can browse different species and color forms of Phidippus jumping spiders and can purchase them with no minimums. All of our spiders that are available for sale are captive born and raised. This has minimum impact on the environment.

Whether you enjoy the natural areas near you, or you prefer to stay on paved streets, we should all respect and help preserve the local native plants and animals, including that which lives in our yards. I have planted many native species of plants in my yard to help the native insects, spiders, birds, and mammals have a habitat to flourish. We would urge each of you to think about the types of plants that you have in your yard, and consider their benefits. Even if your "yard" is an open balcony, you can do your part by growing a plant that bees and butterflies love.

If you purchase a spider from us, we only ask that you do two things. First, take good care of your jumper. We have included instructions to help you do this successfully. Second, respect the biodiversity of the animal life in your geographic area. Do not release any spiders in an area if the species is not naturally found in that area. If you have any question as to whether a particular species is native to your area, feel free to contact us with any questions regarding your spider.

You can keep up with how the projects are going on the Phidippus Journal page. We would love for you to be part of the facebook community on the phids.net facebook page. We are also on Twitter and Google +.
